Community Engagement

SBEA believes students are not only beneficiaries of a strong community—they also have gifts, talents, knowledge, and experiences that can benefit others. Student Success Grants seek to foster opportunities for students to develop leadership, strengthen their connection to the community, and recognize the positive impact they can make. Students benefiting from funding for extra-curricular and co-curricular activities are expected to participate in a meaningful community service/engagement activity. As a general guideline, activities should provide approximately two hours of engagement per participating student. SBEA encourages projects that go beyond traditional collection drives and allow students to actively contribute their time, talents, or skills.

How will students give back, share their learning, or engage with their school or community as a result of this opportunity?
